Visas
A visa and passport from your country of origin are generally required for entry from a foreign land into the United States. Check with your local embassy or consulate for current regulations and information about the maximum length of stay permitted.
Currency Exchange
Currency exchange is available in a handful of locations in Lee County, but there are numerous cashpoint machines where debit and credit card users can obtain cash from their home accounts. Look for symbols on the back of your card that match up with those on the automatic teller machine. Better yet, find out which banks in the U.S. use the same electronic transfer systems as the one at your financial institution in your home country before you leave.
Major credit cards, such as American Express, Visa and Mastercard are readily accepted at many shops, restaurants, attractions and accommodations.
The following financial institutions, except Travelex America, offer currency exchange services to order, so it may take several days to receive the type of currency required. Travelex, on the second floor at Southwest Florida International Airport, is able to exchange most currencies on demand.
